Al-Karama Soccer Championship; In cooperation with the Palestinian Football Association

A Soccer Championship titled “Al-Quds and Al-Karama” will be held between March 19 to March 30 this year; under the patronage of His Excellency President Mahmoud Abbas and His Majesty King Abdullah II bin Al Hussein, King of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.

The championship will be held in cooperation between two unions; The Palestinian and Jordanian Football Associations, with the participation of six Palestinian and Jordanian elite clubs.

“Tamkeen Insurance” had the honor to be one of the leading sponsors for this important championship that strengthen the bond between the Palestinian and the Jordanian people and overcome the challenges that our Palestinian youth face in practicing sports on their land. This was emphasized by Mr. Mohammad Al-Remawi, Tamkeen’s general manager: “we are honored to be one of the sponsors since this initiative is one of our company’s philosophy and approaches of social responsibility and believing in our national duty towards our struggling people in their various segments and institutional sectors. He added “we need to highlight the importance of supporting Palestinian youth in all fields, including Palestinian sports, which has witnessed remarkable development locally, regionally and globally since the leadership of H.E Jibril Rjoub assumed the presidency of the Palestinian football Association.

H.E Jibril Rjoub, President of the Palestinian Football Association, stressed how exceptional the “Jerusalem and Al-Karam” Soccer Championship is since it has many indications that bear great signs of unity and brotherhood between Palestine and Jordan, and that it embodies the common hope and pain between the two countries. He expressed how hopeful he is, that this championship will have  a high level of competition.

Rjoub explained that the championship is the first edition with a Jordanian-Palestinian partnership, hoping that this participation will expand in the future and include all Arab countries, underlining his commitment and Prince Ali bin Al Hussein to work for the success of this championship , which shows the depth of brotherly relations and sports partnership that unites the two countries, highlighting that Palestinian sports today constitute one of the most prominent manifestations of national identity.
